The classic Pomodoro Technique — twenty-five minutes of focus followed by a five-minute break — is everywhere, but does it actually work for studying? Some people find twenty-five minutes too short to reach deep focus, while others burn out trying to sustain an hour. In this Focus Lab experiment, we’re testing three Pomodoro variations over two weeks. Variation A sticks with the classic twenty-five and five. Variation B extends focus to forty minutes with a ten-minute break. Variation C uses a flexible timer where you stop only when you hit a natural pause in your material. Pick one variation and commit to it for five consecutive study sessions. Log your perceived focus level, completion rate, and whether you felt the urge to quit early. Share your results here. We’re building a collective dataset on what actually helps students sustain attention past the first burst of motivation.
